The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will hold the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) 2016 to highlight the contribution of science and technology (S&T) to national development. With overall theme Juan Science. One Nation, NSTW will also give recognition and appreciation to outstanding accomplishments and personalities in S&T.
As part of the celebration, the Metro Manila Science Community composed of DOST attached agencies namely the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), in partnership with the Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC), will showcase the Departments breakthrough projects, technologies, and services in healthcare through an Open House Exhibit on 25-29 July 2016 at SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium, Pasay City.
Aside from the exhibit, activities such as Natural Products Forum, Nutrition Survey Forum, Health Webinar, Traditional Medicine Forum, Forum on Road Injuries, Forum on Nutrigenomics, Biobank and Lay Forum on Cancers, and Trailblazers in Science: National Scientists Lecture Series, will also be held.

On behalf of the Philippine Network for Organ Sharing (PhilNOS), an implementing arm of the Philippine Organ Donation and Transplantation Program (PODTP) of the Essential Non-Communicable Disease Division (ENCDD) of the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau (DPCB), we would like to thank you for your active participation to the Public Hearing for the draft Administrative Order on the National Policy on Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation and Its Implementing Structure including Establishment, Operational and Accreditation Guidelines for Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO) held last June 21-23, 2016 at The Sulo Riviera Hotel, Quezon City.
Further, I just would like to inform you that the final deadline in sending your reactions and opinions/suggestions re: draft AO and guidelines on the Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation is not later than 5:00PM, Friday, 2016 July 1.
After we have gathered all the comments from the organ donation and transplant community and other various stakeholders, the PODTP-PhilNOS will convene a meeting with the Technical Working Group (TWG) to finalize the AO and guidelines.
Rest assured, we will keep you posted on the progress of this national policy.
