Ika Isandaang Milyon Pinoy (100 Millionth Pilipino)


The country reached a milestone yesterday with the symbolic birth of the 100 millionth Filipino at the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila at 12:35 a.m., July 27, 2014, Sunday.

The Commission on Population (PopCom), the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) jointly announced the birth of Chonalyn Sentino, daughter of Dailin Cabigayan and Celemente Sentino, Jr. from Sampaloc, Manila, as one of the babies born early Sunday who are qualified to become the country’s symbolic 100 millionth baby. The 100 infants will nonetheless be called the 100 millionth Filipino babies.

Dr. Flores said: 100 m Pinoy baby symbolizes hope for a better quality of life for all the 100M Filipinos.  Perks would include PHIC membership for life, health benefit package including immunization and free health services, gift package and cash incentive. And of course the prestigious title.
